Course Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to discuss the efficacy of pharmacological agents used to treat anxiety and depression.
- Participants will be able to describe the adverse events and side effects of pharmacological agents used to treat anxiety and depression.
- Participants will be able to describe the indications and contraindications of pharmacological agents used to treat anxiety and depression.
- Participants will be able to describe approaches to working with patients that are depressed and anxious concerning assessment, medication choice, suicidality, sleep, managing side effects, and when to refer for the continuation of maintenance treatment.
